WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files containing data that your browser saves onto your computer's hard drive when you visit a website. For instance, particular settings for a site are kept in these files so that you don't have to configure them again on every visit. A unique ID may also be saved, which lets a website measure how many unique visitors it has had, or remember which pages you looked at so that other relevant pages can be suggested on that basis. Even though a cookie can therefore hold a unique profile of the person concerned, cookies never contain personal details such as your name or address.

FUNCTIONAL COOKIES

We use cookies to keep the site working correctly and easy to use. This covers:

  • Storing preferences so you don't have to set them again on every visit (such as your language choice)
  • Remembering certain settings or data as you move from one page to another (such as filter settings or your shopping cart)
  • Holding on to the contents of your shopping cart, so it's saved for a later visit.
  • Retaining your login details (if you enabled this in your browser during your first login)

ANALYTICAL COOKIES

We measure how our website is used through a number of third-party tools. We do this to spot and correct errors on our site, to make it easier to use, and to test new features or designs (so-called A/B tests). These tools rely on cookies for that.

  • We use Google Analytics for general statistics, such as page views, unique users, time per page/visit, conversion rate, and so on. For completeness, we also point you to Google's privacy statement.

ADVERTISING COOKIES

We work with advertising networks to display ads for our products and promotions on other websites to users who are interested in what we offer. These advertising networks use cookies to build a unique profile that records which pages you've visited, so that the right ads can be shown based on that.

This happens anonymously. No personal information, such as your name or address, is stored, and no link is made to your account at Meroda Cosmetics. Cookies are also used to connect the display of an ad to a possible purchase of the product, so that a fee can be paid to the advertising network on that basis.
